'œAlthough this is certainly not the first bibliography devoted to Mexican-American history, Meier has compiled by far the most comprehensive resource (for English-language sources) to date. A particular strength of the work is the extensive list of obscure masters theses and dissertations. Meier also provides a list of 200 bibliographies and guides; 68 special collections, archives, and libraries devoted to Mexican-American history; and 69 journals that regularly publish articles on this theme. About 70 percent of the sources are briefly annotated. Helpful subject and author indexes offer easy access to the sources.
