A Celebration of History explores the region's earliest days, when Chief Shikellamy was there, and the period when settlers ventured into the frontier area from Berks and Lancaster Counties. Written by the late Charles M. Snyder and first published at the time of the nation's bicentennial, this book is devoted to the development and growth of the different townships and boroughs of New Berlin, Lewisburg, Hartleton, and Mifflinburg, as well as crossroad communities.The chapters focus on the politics of different eras, the evolution of the area's transportation networks, schools and school life, and the recreational pastimes over generations.
