There is a lack of materials on the enviroment in Botswana, and this handbook addresses that gap. In addition, enviromental education is being incorporated into the education system in Botswana. The authors, all from the Department of Enviromental Science at the University of Botswana, focus on the six issues identified in the National Conservation Strategy: pressure on water resources; rangelands pasture degradation; depletion of wood resources; overuse of veld products; and industrial/urban pollution.
