Incontinence Care

This program reviews two basic types of incontinence care: toileting assistance and perineal care. The program also discusses three types of problems often associated with incontinence: urinary retention, urinary tract infection and constipation. After watching the video, participating in class discussion, reading the handouts, and taking the tests, participants should be able to explain how to assist residents with toileting, list the basic steps of perineal care, describe the signs that a CNA should be alert to and report for urinary retention, urinary tract infection, and constipation.
