Larry's Army is about a young Jewish man who is drafted as a private during the Korean War. Larry goes through a series of adventures, and he accomplishes the near-impossible: the integration of Black soldiers in the European theatre of operations. His inspiration comes from a close friendship with a former pilot in the Tuskeegee Squadron. Later, as an officer, Larry wins full integration and equal treatment for women in the Armed Forces, culminating in the admission of women into West Point and Annapolis in 1976.
