Carol George Campbell is a Jamaican by birth. His ancestors are descendants of slaves who had, and still have, inhabited almost the same hilly, interior regions in St. Ann, Jamaica. He migrated to the states in 1978, and eventually studied at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and Brooklyn College in New York City. Married since 1985 to Sonia, his childhood sweetheart, they have three children, Dacia, Marcus, and Shadeeka. He has worked at a variety of jobs. He has been a census taker, an army reservist, a security guard, and a railroad clerk, to name a few. At present, he teaches at a local school in Brooklyn.
