SUMMARY

"Iosif Andriasov wrote Trio for Violin, Cello, and Piano, Op.7, C minor in 1957. He dedicated it to Grant Grigorian, his first composition's teacher. The premiere of the Trio took place in 1958 with Evgeney Smirnov (violin), Igor Koorkin (cello), and Irina Shlykova (piano) at the Malyi Hall of Moscow Conservatory in Moscow. In 1971, Iosif Andriasov made a revision of the Trio. Its US preniere was given on July 21, 1979, at the Newport Music Festivale (Rhode Island) with Dmitry Sitkovetsky (violin), Jeffrey Solow (cello), and Thomas Hrinkiv (piano). The Trio is a dramatic composition in three movements: Allegro moderato con vigore, C minor; Andante con tenerezza, F major, and Allegro con brio, C major-C minor".
